Intro to Viniyoga (with Liz Lacey Gotz) 6-Part Series

Is lifelong wellness your goal vs. a perfect body? Do you suffer from chronic pain in your lower back, neck or shoulders? Are you looking for a way to transform yourself, both physically and mentally? Are you ready to see the perfection and joy that already exists in you? If you answered YES to any of the above, it could be time to try viniyoga. Viniyoga is a gentle yoga practice that meets you where you are through adaptations of common poses along with slow, dynamic movements. Viniyoga can help you build your strength and confidence in movement, move away from unhealthy physical and mental patterns. And, we will have fun as we follow our breath along the well-worn path of a practice that has endured for more than 2,000 years.

This course will include:

§  A progression of classes that cover the basics of viniyoga with specific focus on the body, the mind and the breath

§  Short practices you can use during the week to build strength and flexibility over time

§  Book list of recommended reading

A student of viniyoga since 2001, Liz Lacey-Gotz is a certified yoga teacher at the 200-hour level, trained by Maggie Kessell in the viniyoga tradition established by Krishnamacharya and furthered by his son, T.K.V. Desikachar. Liz teaches with an open heart, a driving curiosity and a lot of levity, always open to adding a sense of fun to the practice. She is currently undertaking a 3-year C-IAYT yoga therapy and advanced teacher training with Robin Rothenberg in Seattle. In addition, Liz has studied with viniyoga master Gary Kraftsow, and attended retreats and workshops with Mirka Scalco Kraftsow and chanting guru Sonia Nelson.
