Yoga Philosophy Workshop Series

Yoga looks at the question: What does it mean to be human?

Five Workshops with Maggie Kessell

This series of workshops will explore the anatomy of the whole human being—what does it mean to be human? How do we use the various tools of yoga: postures, breathing, meditation, chant, study of wisdom texts, prayer and ritual to develop all aspects of our being, coming into balance, and living to our fullest potential? This model, based on ancient texts, provides a lens for looking at our own development, as well as the larger context of parenting our children, education, public health and global issues such as the environment and our relationship with it. It can shed light on the issues we struggle with personally and socially.
Each workshop will feature a presentation, an experiential component with asana, pranayama, and/or meditation, followed by discussion.
This workshop series is appropriate for beginning students as well as more experienced practitioners and teachers.
